These terms cover this website and every game published by HollowBright Studios LLC. By using them you agree to what is written here.

1. Who we are

HollowBright Studios LLC ("HollowBright", "we", "us") is an independent game studio and record label based in Colorado, USA. Contact: dev@hollowbrightstudios.com.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to hollowbrightstudios.com and to every game, app and piece of software we publish (together, "the games"). Where you got a game from a store such as Google Play, the App Store or Steam, that store's own terms also apply, and if they conflict with these on a point about the store itself, the store's terms win.

3. Your licence to play

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and play the games for your own entertainment on devices you own or control. The games are licensed, not sold. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, rent, sell or redistribute the games or any part of them, or use them to build a competing product, except where the law expressly allows it.

4. Fair play

Do not cheat, exploit bugs to gain an advantage over other players, tamper with leaderboards, or use bots, hacks or modified clients in any game with online features. We may remove leaderboard entries or block access to online features for anyone who does. Choose leaderboard tags and usernames that are not offensive, impersonating or misleading; we may change or remove any that are.

5. Purchases and ads

Some games offer optional in-app purchases and optional rewarded ads. Purchases are made through and processed by the store you downloaded from, under that store's terms, and refunds are handled by that store. In-game currency, boosters and unlocks have no real-world value, cannot be exchanged for money, and may be changed or removed if a game is updated or discontinued.

6. Streaming and videos

You are welcome to record, stream, review and monetise videos of our games on platforms such as YouTube, Twitch and TikTok. You may use our key art and logos from the press kit for that purpose. Please do not imply that we endorse or sponsor your content unless we have agreed to in writing.

7. Music

Recordings released by the HollowBright Studios label are protected by copyright. Personal listening through the services we publish on is always fine. Use in your own videos, streams, games or other projects needs a licence; email us and we will usually say yes on simple terms.

8. Ownership

The games, the website, our music, and all artwork, code, names, logos and other content are owned by HollowBright Studios LLC or our licensors. HollowBright, HollowBright Studios and our game titles are our trademarks. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you beyond the licence in section 3.

9. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what the games and this website do with your data and how to ask for deletion.

10. Updates, availability and ending

We may update, change or discontinue any game or online feature at any time, including leaderboards and other servers, and we may stop supporting older versions or devices. We may end your licence if you break these terms. You can end it at any time by deleting the game.

11. No warranty

The games and website are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that they will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose. We are a very small studio and bugs happen; tell us and we will do our best to fix them.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, HollowBright Studios LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the games or website. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the game concerned in the twelve months before the claim, or US$10 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you stronger protections, those protections still apply.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows the latest revision. Continuing to use the games or website after a change means you accept the new terms.
